DAY 1-3

In the foothills of the Eastern Himalaya, Assam is the gateway to India’s northeast, where the mighty River Brahmaputra sustains all life along the floodplains and cities. Spend three days on a luxurious river cruise aboard a private houseboat uncovering the many treasures of the river. DAY 4-7

With a heritage tea estate bungalow as your base, you can take long walks along a botanical trail, stroll through lush tea gardens, and go birding at Nameri National Park. Start your days with a delicate cup of Assamese first flush, followed by walks in the wilderness and sundowners by the fireplace.  As home to the largest one-horned rhino population in the world, a game drive in the wild grasslands of Kaziranga National Park is a truly special experience. Spot the lumbering beasts as they feed on tall grass and wallow in cool mud pits, often trailed by their young.
